Differential Equations

Differential equations are mathematical equations that describe the rate of change of a quantity with respect to one or more independent variables. Differential equations are important because they are used to model a wide range of physical phenomena, including the motion of objects, the flow of fluids, and the growth of populations.

• Modeling Physical Phenomena

Differential equations can be used to model a wide range of physical phenomena, including the motion of objects, the flow of fluids, and the growth of populations. For example, the motion of a projectile can be modeled using a differential equation that describes the acceleration of the projectile due to gravity.

• Solving Problems

Differential equations can be used to solve a wide range of problems in science and engineering. For example, differential equations can be used to design bridges, airplanes, and other structures. They can also be used to predict the weather and climate.
